Life’s A Game Podcast 22 – Dictator Lemon Party

Keyblade Seppuku, Wreck-It Racism, Drake And Josh’s Deception, Ken needing a cuddle and fascist fruit orgies are all things that I’ve not only just listed, but only make sense if you listen to the latest Life’s A Game…

Want to discover why I listed a bunch of incredibly weird and obtuse things, but you’re not the type of person who’d right-click and save the file behind the hyperlink above?

Well, you could always subscribe to the podcast via iTunes, and leave us one of those lovely reviews we always hear about?

What if you don’t care for downloading directly from here or from the Apple Corp? There’s a third option: stream the latest episode via the magic plug-in that only appears directly below this sentence! WIZARDRY!

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Enough of the introductory words, tell me who’s on this show!

I am LuigiEdward Price
Site creator and Podcast host, and propagator of silly voices; he doesn’t think anyone will pick up on the subtle hints he provides throughout this episode, but truth be told, he didn’t really care for Uncharted 3 that much, at all. If only he’d explain why…

Keegan Spindler
Gaminglives, Beefjack and Platform writer; he had to talk about the new Aliens game this week because Richie wasn’t around to tell us something about it. On the plus side, very few people were harmed as a result.

In this episode, the Three Amigas get into the following adventures…

- The episode starts with what we’ve been playing, including Far Cry 3, Uncharted 3 (with spoilers for the end of Uncharted 2), DmC: Devil May Cry, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, Fist Of The North Star: Ken’s Rage 2, Metal Gear Rising: Revengance, Skate 2, F1 Race Stars and Aliens: Colonial Marines.

- Ric explains his issue with art games, their pricing structure and why he doesn’t use Twitter much anymore.

- The Aliens: Colonial Marines controversy is almost discussed but instead we think about podcast regular Richie and his opinion of it before moving on to what someone who is actually on this episode thinks.

- Tired of everyone making predictions for the Sony Announcement most of the gaming press insisted was for the Playstation 4 (and were eventually proven to be right), we came up with our own ideas of the best things they could announce instead. (We admit this discussion was poorly timed as we recorded before the event only remembering afterwards that the podcast would be released after the conference)

- Wreck-It Ralph has finally been released in the UK, so we wax lyrical about a film that does videogames right, even if it doesn’t use the cameos well.

- Ed has another plan for Keegan’s wedding.

- Ed pitches a new take on the Uncharted series, spawning another “With A Twist!”, with “What if it was Uncharted 3, but…”

- We look at the next month’s releases and debate which of them we’re most looking forward to, Ric desires something a little Japanese and the Three Amigas brainstorm the next viral phenomenon.

- The episode ends with Ric singing us a song based on the podcast’s events.

See you maybe in March?

Life’s A Game Series 4 Episode 1

Life’s A Game Series 4 Episode 1 – 4th November 2011 – Click this link and then download when prompted.

Ah, so here it is. The final series of Life’s A Game on student radio.
Can it be? Truly, does the twilight begin here?

Well, yes it does. Welcome to the first of the final stretch with another show talking about the wider world of videogames. Back refreshed from a a long summer away from the radio waves and shouting into the abyss that is the internet with the amazing Life’s A Game podcasts, episode one does what it can to deliver my latest rants and opinions on what’s been happening in videogames recently.

So what was covered this week around? Well, there’s the new Grand Theft Auto Five trailer and the series as a whole, Uncharted 3 and the problem of scoring reviews, Disney Universe, Final Fantasy 4, the Modern Warfare 3 controversy and a few more things to boot! There’s certainly some interesting one sided discussions going on that you’ll at the very least enjoy hearing!

I apologise for the poor sound quality of the episode. I’ve done what I can to fix it, but it’s still a bit problematic and for that I’m sorry. Hopefully future episodes will be free of any sound issues, but please bear with this episode, and I hope it doesn’t detract from the quality of the show or impact your listening too much.

While the download doesn’t contain any of the following tracks, below are the tracks in the order they were played, and an appropriate link to Youtube. Remind me at some point and I’ll put all of the tracks into a Spotify playlist when a few more shows have been done.

Linus of Hollywood – When Are We Gonna Do It?
Tim Minchin – Inflatable You
Jonathan Coulton – I Feel Fantastic
Weird Al Yankovic – TMZ
Bowling For Soup – Stacy’s Mom
Barenaked Ladies – What A Letdown (Sadly, this is the acoustic version, you’ll have to look elsewhere for the original version played on the show!)

I think that’s all for the first week! Next week’s episode promises to be very interesting, with a very special guest and content. Hope you like it as much as I’m going to :D

<3 Edward.
P.S: Make sure to keep up to date with the show and other information on the Twitter and Facebook pages, as well as the latest content on Ginx TV and Gaminglives! (Check the sidebar for links!)

Life’s A Game Podcast Episode 8 – My Podcast With Adam

Life’s A Game Podcast Episode 8 – My Podcast With Adam – Click this link and then download when prompted.

Oh hai guys! Would you look at that? It’s the Life’s A Game Podcast!

But with that news comes a certain sadness. This will be the last LAG Podcast for the next couple of months.

Because next week will be the start of the last series of the Life’s A Game Radio Show!

That’s right, Life’s A Game will have one more radio series on WiredRadio.co.uk before saying farewell to the radio waves. All shows will be broadcast live on Wired Radio Fridays at 6pm (UK Time), and then available to download from this site over the weekend, so if you’re unable to listen live for whatever reason, then you’ll be able to listen to it later on without music. Excited? I know I am!

But I digress, back to the podcast.

As this is the final podcast for a while, I decided to do something a little different. So I grabbed my good friend Adam Freeman (host of the most excellent Gaminglives Podcast) and had a rather in-depth conversation with him about all things recent in gaming.

So, if you want to hear what we’ve been playing, our love of Minecraft, my trip to the Zelda 25th Anniversary Symphony, my thoughts on Disney Universe, All Zombies Must Die! and the co-op problem, our favourite gaming worlds and videogame tunes, Adam’s Morrowind adventures, Uncharted 3 and the problem with fan reaction to reviews, Battlefield vs Modern Warfare and Adam’s experience with Mass Effect 3′s upcoming Galaxy at War mode, then click that link at the beginning of the post and get downloading, because your ears are in for a treat!

I’d like to thank Mr Freeman very much for his participation, and making My Podcast With Adam possible. If you want to get hold of more of his opinions in readable form then make sure to check out his twitter and Gaminglives writer’s page. If you can’t get enough of his dulcet tones, then make sure you subscribe to the Gaminglives Podcast, where he’ll be joined by Mark, Ben, Lee and Lorna on a weekly basis.

Thanks very much anyone who downloaded and listened to the podcast, and it’ll be back in a few months. I’ll see you all next week for the final series of the radio version of Life’s A Game!
